Simulating Expertise
نویسنده
چکیده
Evaluation of knowledge acquisition (KA) technology is difficult because of the costs of using human expertise in experimental studies. An analysis of the types of errors a human expert makes in building a knowledge-based system (KBS) has been developed which suggests that a simulation of the key factors in building a KBS is possible. A demonstration KA simulation has been implemented for one KA method which suggests this approach may play a useful role in KA evaluation. The exercise also suggests that knowledge-level modelling may be usefully extended to the actual process of building a KBS.

Incase: simulating Experience to Accelerate Expertise Development by Knowledge Workers
INCASE, a web-based electronic learning (e-learning) environment, has been built to enable rapid expertise development in novice-level professional knowledge workers. This paper describes the theoretical underpinnings (constructivist epistemology) behind INCASE and uses a design science methodology to describe its design, construction, instantiation, and validation. The INCASE system addresses ...
متن کاملBuilding a Worthy Opponent: Simulating Human Play for the Development of Expertise
This paper considers what is required of a sufficiently powerful, and realistically human, game-playing program. It summarizes relevant human performance data, and distinguishes fundamental properties of human and of expert human play. Learning, planning, and visual perception are emphasized, as well as communication. The resultant programs should offer competition, instruction, and collegial d...

The present study was an attempt to investigate the manifestation of teaching expertise of EFL teachers in Iranian formal educational context. More specifically, it was intended to study how teachers of English in Iranian high schools and General English instructors in a state university manifest features of teaching expertise. The study also compared the expertise features of novice teachers w...
متن کاملRealistic propagation simulation of urban mesh networks q
Simulation plays an important role in the verification ofmobilewireless networking protocols.Recently, several cities have either begun deploying or are completing plans to deploy large-scale urban mesh networks (LUMNets). On the other hand, the networking research community has little expertise in simulating such networks. While the protocols are simulated reasonably realistically, the propaga...
متن کاملA New Methodology to Design Distributed Medical Diagnostic Centers
In a Distributed Diagnostic Center (DDC), patients’ examinations (exams) are performed in Remote Units (RUs) and the collected data (images, lab exams, etc) are sent to expertise Diagnostic Units (DUs) for evaluation. The DDC’s quality of service per exam is considered through several factors, such as patient’s waiting time, RU-DU communicating load, expert’s occupancy, priority, administrative...
